Bet: Antonio Margarito vs Paul Williams

margarito-williams.jpg

Gents let me tell you, Paul Williams is the real deal!

He WILL win, and I am very confident in betting on Williams.

Margarito was on his way to an embarrasing loss against Joshua Clottey, forunate for Margarito, Clottey broke his hand hurting his performance. Fortunate for that Margarito won, cause These odds wouldn’t be so good :)

Bet: Arturo Gatti vs Alfonso Gomez

gatti-gomez.jpg

I love Gatti in this fight. An Argument can be made that Gatti is a shot fighter… but if he is, Gomez is NOT the type of fighter that will expose that.

Its a 10 round fight, and like many 10 round Gatti fights, you get 12 rounds worth regardless. I bet on the under, Gatti Stopped Thomas Dammgard, who demonstarted a good chin, but lost the will.

    Where Have I been?

    February 3, 2007 by betonboxing

Unfortunately, their has not been too many good fights to bet on. I will remain absent until theirs something half decent.

Bet: James Toney Vs Sam Peter (Part 2)

    January 4, 2007 by betonboxing

    Hows it going friends?

Their was a weight-in today, Thursday January 4th, and both fighters look fantastic.

Toney today: 234, 1 pound more then in his last fight. But he looks a fit 234.

Peter today: 249, 8 pounds less then in his last fight.

Props to both fighters. Look at the photo from the weigh-in from last fight.

Now that thats out of the way… here are my pics.

    From PinnacleSports.com

The circled odds are what I feel are your best betting options. Toney, who alot of people feel won in the first fight, is the underdog, which benefits us betters. Your safest bet amoung these 3 is that the fight is going over 11.5 rounds. I think if these 2 faught 10 times, it would go to the scorecards all 10 times. Your best odds will be picking James Toney by decision. He wont knock out peter, Toney last KO win was in 2003 against Evander Holyfield.

Thoes are my picks for this saturday night, good luck.

Bet: James Toney Vs Sam Peter

    January 1, 2007 by betonboxing

Hey gamblers, first of all, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

Excuse the infrequancy of my posts, holiday times got a little busy. In addition, their hasn’t been anything decent to beton since the Ouma/Taylor fight.

Here we go again. James Toney, hard to believe he started out as a Middleweight, where he became the Champion of the world. In 1993 he knocked out Iran Barkey to become supermiddleweight champion of the world. He would lose this crown in embarrassing fassion to Roy Jones Jr. In 1995 he became the WBU Light Heavyweight champion by desqualification. He would lose this crown to Montel Griffin, a fighter he had already lost to already. In 2002 he became world Cruiserweight champion beating Vassiliy Jirov, which produced one of the best cruiserweight rounds in history. Toney would then become a human bowling ball in the heavyweight division… but that didnt stop him. He knocked out Evander Holyfield, beat undefeted Rydell Booker through 10 rounds, school John Ruiz (although the fight was ruled a no contest because Toney tested positive for a banned substance. In his most recent fight, he fought Sam Peter. This fight was a very poorly scored fight. It was close, but the scores ranged from 116-111 x 2 (Peter) to 115-112 (Toney).

Sam Peter is a heavyhanded puncher coming out of Nigeria. Hes very young at 24, and still develoing. His biggest win was again James Toney, prior to that though, his best win was against Taurus Sykes, and pretender amoung contenders. He had a tough fight against Wladamir Klitschko. Peter Floored Klitschko twice in the 5th round, and once in the 10th, but still lost convincingly, 114-111 on all cards.

I have no advice yet when it comes to betting on this. Wait until after the weigh-in, because that is gonna play the biggest part.

James Toney vs Jirov, the 12th round, and a spectacular one.

Sam Peter Blasts through 7′1″ Julious Long

Bet: Jermain Taylor Vs Kassim Ouma

    December 7, 2006 by betonboxing

    Pinnaclesports.com

    (-606) Jermain Taylor (25-0-1 17 Kos)
    Vs
    (+546) Kassim Ouma (25-2-1 15 Kos)

Synopsis: Current Middleweight champion, and top 10 pound for pound fighter Jermain Taylor fights against the high volume puncher Kassim Ouma. Taylor is coming off fights against the best of the best. His last fight ended in a draw against Ronald Winky Wright, a fight in which I thought Wright won narrowly. Before that, Taylor got the creadit of having 2 wins over the former pound 4 pound best, and Middleweight legend Bernard Hopkins.

Kassim Ouma moves up in weight to challange Taylor for his titles. In his last fight, Ouma won a very convincing decision over former top amature fighter, Sechew Powell. Ouma took Powell to school throwing non stop punches for 10 rounds, winning every round according to one judge.

Prediction: Pain! Kassim Ouma may throw over 100 punches a round, but his punches have nothing on it. Taylor will walk through his punches and land the hard punches, stunning Ouma multiple times. I think its safe to bet on Taylor. But like the last fight, it might not be worth it, considering Taylor is such an overwhelming favorite.

The over/under for this fight at Pinnaclesports is as follow.

    Over 10.5 rounds (-116)
    Under 10.5 rounds (+106)

Id bet on the under here. I think Taylor lands that punch that knocks Ouma silly. He really battered Wright around a few times, and stunned Hopkins once in his 2nd fight.
